Pleasanton, CAThis IT Project Management position will be responsible for managing projects for our R&D IT customers. The IT Project Manager is accountable for the successful implementation of technical solutions through effective planning and execution throughout all phases of our project management methodology. You are responsible for resource management, tracking budgets and financial forecasts, creating and tracking detailed project plans, effectively leading and facilitating project meetings as well as proactively controlling project scope, risks and issues. Additionally, the person in this position must effectively manage the projects across global locations and time zones and be able to travel internationally as needed.Duties:Define, plan, and direct the execution of a broad range of projects for our R&D IT customers while balancing the competing demands of scope, time, cost, quality, resources, and risk to produce a high quality productIdentify, acquire, and lead multifunctional, global project teamsEnsure project objectives/requirements are clear and agreed to by all stakeholdersManage relationships with various IT and business stakeholder to achieve project objectivesFacilitate project management activities across the entire project management methodologyEnsure successful and timely completion of deliverablesTrack progress against baseline schedulePlan, baseline and control costs to ensure projects are completed within approved budget.Manage project priorities and ensure adherence to the agreed scope.Monitor, document and gain approval for changes to schedule, cost or project scope.Identify and apply systematic quality activities to ensure that projects employ all processes needed to meet Computer System Validation directivesConduct risk and issue management planning, identification, analysis and monitoring on projects.Formulate risk and issue mitigation strategies, recommend and implement solutions.Manage the processes required to ensure timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval, and ultimate disposition of project information and documentation necessary for successful communications across all stakeholders and any required updates to living system documents for validated systemsFor this position you will bring the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, systems design, or equivalent field with 5 years + experience in project managementSolid understanding and experience with information technology concepts (application and infrastructure)Demonstrated competency in planning and tracking project schedules with clearly-defined critical pathsAbility to manage mid-level, multifunctional projects across multiple global locationsProven ability to obtain results in a global, matrix environmentTrack record of delivering projects on time and on budgetExcellent oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation abilitiesDemonstrated success communicating across a variety of audiences, including business people and technologists (both up and down the organization)Exceptional listening, problem solving, negotiation, and facilitation skillsPlus: Project management skills training, such as PMPPlus: Experience within the Pharmaceutical/Personalized health care or BioTech industryPlus: Experience with GxP validated system conceptsPlus: Prior experience managing offshore contract resourcesFluent English skills
